Celebrated Broadcaster and Drive Time host of Bogoso based Best FM, Derrick Nana Yaw Berchie popularly known as DJ Shocka is the Master of Ceremony (MC) for the 4th edition of Wassaman Entertainment and Business Awards.
Slated for 10th December at Golden Hotel (new site) in Bogoso, Unique Empire, organizers of the prestigious annual awards revealed the host through their Publict Relations Directorate.
“One of the areas that patrons of the awards are always particular about is the person recruited to be the MC. The success or otherwise of the ceremony largely depends on who will MC the event so for the last three years, hardly will anyone review the awards without mentioning the performance of the MC”
“The focus of this year’s edition directed us to settle on Shocka who has the finesse for what we want to achieve. He is someone who has worked in the media space for a long time so the patrons know him and his records” Mr. Maxwell said.
The talented Broadcaster who is a household name in the Creative Arts Industry in Western Region has worked with Space FM in Tarkwa, Beach FM in Takoradi and currently with Best FM in Bogoso
He started his education with Methodist primary school and later joined Gogoe memorial preparatory school, all in Tarkwa. He had his secondary education at Tarkwa secondary school (Tarsco)
Shocka is a graduate of Pan-African institute of journalism (Takoradi Campus) and has won many awards including the Western Music Awards’ ‘Best entertainment Show host’ in 2020.
