Get Familiar With Nyla Darks, The New Talented Female Vocalist From Western Region

Patience Adjo Darko-Budu professionally known as Nyla Darks is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and recording artiste. She was born in the Eastern Region but lives in Tarkwa, which is in the Western Region of Ghana.

She completed her tertiary education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. She had her secondary education at Archbishop Porter Girls Secondary School in Takoradi. Golden Age School’s Complex was were she had her basic education and this was in Tarkwa.

 

Nyla is also a sign language interpreter. She has been teaching and interpreting for about 10 years now. “I want everyone to hear my songs, that include the hearing impaired” says Nyla.

She wants to put up a plan for her songs to reach everyone.She started writing songs in primary school, “I used to write songs in my singing note books and practically force my friends to learn and sing with me during recess.”

 

She decided to music since then. Her inspiration came from different sources, “A lot of things inspired me to do music. My dad, the songs I listened to, and my friends also encouraged me everytime I taught them my songs.

“In 2022, Nyla released two singles titled “So Real” and “All Alone” which brought her into the spotlight. Call it beginner’s luck but “So Real” won the hearts of many and got trended on Audiomack.

Her songs have been getting the needed attention after that.Her style of music is classified as “Afrofusion” and she sings in English Twi language and pidgin. “I’m not really fluent in speaking pidgin but I love that language and I like to sing it in in my songs, so I do my best to use it” she admitted.

Nyla Darks has an interesting personality. She is down to earth and very lively. She’s funny and knows how to lessen tension in a room. She loves music, movies and reading. She also enjoys hanging out with friends and having a good time. She aims to entertain and communicate with people through her music.
